OFC is seeking an energetic and experienced Legal Counsel with a particular focus on contracts, employment law and policy complianceto join our team, based at the Home of Football, Te Kahu o' Kiwa, in Auckland, New Zealand. About the role: As Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for:
Assisting the Head of Legal and Compliance in providing high-quality legal advice and support to the OFC General Secretariat.Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts to ensure alignment with organisational goals and legal compliance.Developing and maintaining contract templates to streamline OFC processes.Providing legal advice to the General Secretariat and OFC Committees.Reviewing employment contracts and HR policies to ensure legal compliance.Advising internal stakeholders and senior leadership on day-to-day legal inquiries, helping to mitigate legal risks and achieving regulatory compliance.Assisting the Head of Legal and Compliance with reviewing insurance policies, liaising with brokers, and preparing insurance claims.Managing external legal counsel in litigation matters where applicable.Skills and experience: Four plus years of legal experience in New Zealand, with sports law experience considered an advantage.Valid New Zealand Law Society Practising Certificate.LLB degree (recognised by New Zealand legal jurisdiction) and working knowledge of NZ legislation.Strong project management skills with an ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines.Able to nurture positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Clear, confident communicator with excellent negotiation skills.Professional and ethical, showing personal courage and commitment to the OFC values.Collaborative team player who supports others and contributes to group success.Strong organisational skills with an eye for accuracy and detail.The Next Steps: Please email a cover letter attached to your resume ****** .
