As a principal designer for Hatch, your role is twofold: 1) To champion and lead the planning, coordinating and implementation of a cohesive experience across our digital channels and touchpoints 2) To be a design leader, a force multiplier with the rest of the product team to embed ownership and responsibility in delivering designs that look and feel like they come from the same system, and have Hatch written all over them. You'll have a well-rounded set of core design skills, from understanding user needs to wireframes to prototypes usable enough for testing and research. You will strive to develop the skills and ability to distill needs and desired outcomes into delightful user experiences.This role plays a critical role as we look to scale and grow our business, platform and design knowledge.Like most roles at Hatch, this is highly collaborative, with the success of Hatch being the primary driver for all decisions. These include the core Hatch app, our website, emails and other internal applications used by our staff to support our day-to-day operations.You will also have a strong influence and part to play in improving our design processes and tools, and support the design director in making decisions to continuously improve the efficiency and health of the design team.An internal champion for the power of design to fuel the growth of Hatch. You will help to ensure that our design team is healthy and delivering great work alongside the rest of the delivery team.DesignWork on design problems from beginning to end - from concepting the next great product feature to sketches to tweaking the finer details while in the wild.Create user scenarios, mockups and flows. Produce rapid prototypes to validate design concepts with the wider team.Craft beautiful interfaces and care about the details at every step of the journey from concept to validation to shipped code. Successfully communicate design specifications to engineers using Figma, our design tool and other tools like Trello, Miro and Confluence. We also believe strongly in communicating verbally and "jamming" with people involved in creating Hatch experience.Research, Analysis, and TestingWork closely with the business to ensure a data-driven approach to analyse and deeply understand the success or failure of product features to refine and meet our product and wider business goals.Continuously optimise efforts based on behavioural data using tools available to us such as Google Analytics, DataDog and other tools we may adopt, and customer feedback.
