Mo tenei turanga mahi | About this role Are you passionate about transforming communities and creating vibrant urban spaces? We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to spearhead urban revitalization projects in Whakatane Town Centre and beyond. As an Urban Planning and Development Lead, you'll be at the forefront of planning and delivering impactful projects that elevate the amenity and vitality of our communities.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the planning and execution of urban revitalisation projects, ensuring they are well-coordinated, cohesive, and completed on time and within budget. Collaborate closely with internal teams, external providers, and communities to foster partnerships and ensure project success that align with community needs. Engage stakeholders and political bodies to garner support and drive initiatives forward. Provide expertise on urban redesign, housing, public spaces, and town revitalization efforts. Ensure cultural protocols and safety practices are observed to support initiatives, consultation, and relationships with Iwi/Hapu. Requirements: Proven experience in project management, particularly in urban revitalisation or similar initiatives. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Knowledge of urban planning principles and best practices, with a focus on community-driven development. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively. Degree in urban planning, project management, or a related field is preferred. You'll hold a degree planning, urban design, project management or a similar related qualification. Previous experience in urban planning/design or similar is a must!
