We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our clinical leadership team as a Unit Coordinator at our Julia Wallace Retirement Village located in Palmerston North. The role includes working Tuesday to Saturday 0800-1630 with a shared on-call component.
As the Unit Coordinator, you will use your nursing and people skills to:
Provide leadership, coaching, and support to your team, ensuring care is always 'good enough for mum and dad'
Foster the Ryman culture which promotes a safe and enjoyable work experience for your team
Ensure all care is continuously assessed, planned, implemented, and evaluated to meet the needs of each resident within the Unit
Actively engage with residents' families/whanau, visitors, Allied Health Professionals, and District Health Boards, creating lasting relationships
Perform and support your nursing team to conduct interRAI assessments
Intermittently provide additional time outside rostered hours to attend events, support team members, or residents and families as needed
Dedicate quality time with your team, including flexibility of rostered hours on different shifts to connect with all team members within the unit
Communicate effectively and efficiently with your team that promotes respect and trust
Participate as a positive and trusting member of a team that works together as one
Provide support to your Clinical Manager and Village Manager
About You
To thrive in our supportive and caring environment you will have:
A current APC (annual practising certificate)
interRAI training or willingness to gain competency
Extensive experience as a Senior Registered Nurse or Nursing Leader
The ability to lead, share knowledge, and motivate your team
Kindness, compassion, and drive to deliver exceptional care to our residents
Flexibility to share responsibilities of the on-call component with other Unit Coordinators as per a roster coordinated by the Village Manager
