Wairau Radiology is a key part of healthcare services at Wairau Hospital, offering a comprehensive range of imaging to support clinical care for the local community. Our team works collaboratively to deliver timely, accurate, and patient-focused imaging services, including X-ray, CT, ultrasound, and mammography, dedicating a high standard service to a diverse patient population.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated Radiology team. Our radiology service is committed to providing high-quality diagnostic imaging to support patient care across the region. You will:
Work alongside a team of skilled professionals in a friendly, patient-centred environment.
Provide leadership and support to the radiology team, ensuring effective daily operations.
Manage and maintain the imaging equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards.
Oversee scheduling, staff management, and resource allocation.
Maintain the highest standards of patient care, ensuring all imaging procedures are performed with accuracy and professionalism.
You will be rostered and rotating from Monday through Sunday from 7am to 11pm and participate in the after-hours on-call roster.
The full-time equivalent salary range for MITs working 80 hours a week is $119,000 to $124,000 (Designated C1-3) based on the current Medical Imaging Technologists Collective Agreement dependent on skills, experience, and registration in NZ.

The ideal applicant:
Is registered with the NZMRT Board and holds a current APC.
Has a good understanding of workflows, with an active interest in quality improvement, and advanced knowledge of all aspects of CT scanning diagnostic radiography, including mobiles and theatre work, and digital imaging equipment and processes with an ability to problem solve and address or assess technical issues.
Has strong communication and teamwork skills.
Has a commitment to high standards of patient care.
Preferred, but not essential:
Postgraduate qualification with a CT focus.
Experience and knowledge of Siemens CT scanners.
Experience in CT Coronary Artery examinations.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ work visa at the time of applying.
