Underground Service Locator Experienced/Trainee Utility Scan is a professional underground service locating company. We provide fit for purpose solutions to aid in damage prevention of underground utilities. We employ the latest equipment/technology and utilise GPS mapping and CAD drawing to deliver our locate results and provide as-builts of new and existing infrastructure.
Due to our full workload we have a vacancy for an Underground Service Locating Technician. We are willing to either take on a trainee or an experienced technician. This role is based out of New Plymouth covering the whole of Taranaki, however you will be required to travel outside the region at times.
You will be responsible for, or training given for:
• The location of underground utilities including power, gas, telecommunications, electric, water and sewer systems, using EM locating and GPR
• Mapping of underground utilities using GPS
• Reading and understanding beforeUdig plans and aerial imagery to assist in the identification of underground assets
• Completing and submitting 'paperwork' as required
• Provision of technical advice regarding underground services
• Communicating with clients and the general public
The role requires:
• Current full NZ drivers license
• Reasonable level of fitness
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
• Commitment to health and safety
• Commitment to exceptional customer service
• Problem solving skills and the ability to multi-task
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills
• Being technology savvy
The successful candidate will be provided with full training in Utility Scan policies, systems and equipment. A general understanding of the construction and civil industry would be useful.
