Fixed Term Part Time (0.5FTE) Are you an experienced and passionate Hairdresser with the desire to educate a new generation of like-minded people in the skills and knowledge of Hairdressing?
About the role | Te kaupapa There is a growing demand for trained Hairdressers, and to meet this demand, WelTec offers training for people to become fully qualified Hairdressers as well as training for apprentices working in salons.
Academic quality is the cornerstone of our Centre, and as such, we are seeking to appoint a Hairdresser with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong customer service orientation who wants to develop themselves as an academic educator and pass on their Hairdressing skills to our full-time students and trainees from Industry.
Course delivery, assessment and moderationManagement of resources relating to the learning processesRegular progress reportingWorking as a member of an academic teamYou will be supported in this by an experienced team of Hairdressing educators.
Experience and Qualifications You will have at least 7 years' experience in Hairdressing and a New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing, Level 4 or international equivalent. You should have established contacts within the profession, demonstrated planning and organisational ability, and an ability to relate to youth. While preference will be given to applicants holding a tertiary teaching qualification, applications from experienced Hairdressers with the desire to undertake study towards a teaching qualification will be considered.
