About the role:
An amazing opportunity to join our growing Yoobee Wellington campus to teach our Bachelor of Animation Programme.
You will be walking into an energetic environment where value is placed on delivering outcomes rather than micro-managing work and tasks. You will be given autonomy to work in a way that gets the best results and will be expected to take responsibility and make things happen.
Some of your key responsibilities will be to:
Deliver assessments and evaluate to prescribed national and local qualification standards
Assist with the care and maintenance of classrooms/labs and teaching equipment and resources including marketing and campus events
Record student data, assessment results, attendance, student-at-risk and other compliance related documentation
Participate in the continuous improvement of course content and teaching resources

About you:
You will describe yourself as an accomplished animation practitioner who is enthusiastic, positive, patient, and motivated self-starter who has a passion for sharing knowledge and trying new things.
Formal teaching experience is not required, but is advantageous. However, your exceptional communication and time management skills, along with the ability to connect and build relationships will be the key to your success!

Ideally, you will also have:
A Masters or at a minimum Honors degree level qualification in animation or related field is essential.
Expertise in games and interactive media, creating game projects, all areas needed to teach fundamentals and support student projects
Skills to teach essential modelling, texturing, 3D generalist production
Skills to teach animation fundamentals, applied in both 2D and 3D projects
Ability to guide story and visual development, storyboarding skills, fundamental design skills including character and environment design
Skills and experience with producing 2D and 3D projects, Experience working individually and in multi-disciplinary teams, and confidence in coordinating and supervising team projects
An ability to connect with students through a variety of delivery methods and provide basic pastoral care and support
Have experience in some or all the following key discipline skills: Adobe PS, AE, Toonboom, Maya, Substance – Modeling, Texturing, Lighting, Rendering, Rigging, Unity, Unreal, Animation knowledge and skills, intermediate animation, Concept Art / Visual Communication/Design Theory
Experience with a range of research methodologies, currently research active and ideally experience supervising research
Keen to expand your adult teaching skillset as part of your professional development
Knowledge of Assessment, Moderation and self-assessment practice
Commitment to Te Tiriti O Waitangi
