An opportunity has arisen within Te Wahanga Hauora Maori (The Maori Health Service) of Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, Te Matau a Maui, Hawke's Bay as a Maori Workforce Coordinator working to support Maori tauira wanting to work in the health sector.
If you have a passion to support Maori with their health, are values driven, and have strong communication and interpersonal skills, this role could be for you.
This role will be responsible for re-developing and prioritising the Maori workforce need, integrating tikanga Maori within the delivery of health in Health New Zealand - Hawke's Bay, creating new innovations that support change and growth in Maori workforce.
Key Accountabilities include:
To promote Maori workforce priorities within Health NZ Hawke's Bay and wider health environment.To work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to develop and grow Maori leadership at all levels within Health NZ Hawke's Bay.The successful applicant will continue to develop and maintain strong working relationships across the health and social sector and local Maori communities. They will also possess strong knowledge of Maori health models, Te Reo and Tikanga Maori.
Experience and knowledge of the Maori Health Sector, Ministry of Health and Tikanga Maori are essential for this role.
Te Wahanga Hauora Maori (Maori Health Services) aims to improve the health and wellbeing of Maori and to reduce health inequities within our community.
A reasonably good knowledge of te reo Maori and Kahungunutanga would also be an advantage.
