Key responsibilities:Curriculum and pedagogyLead the development of culturally responsive and effective teaching practices, ensuring they are implemented with fidelity. Take a lead role in literacy or numeracy and support teachers to navigate the changing educational landscape in a way that benefits all akonga. Model culturally responsive practice, recognising and valuing the cultural knowledge akonga bring with them to school.Be our SEN co-ordinator and have a pivotal leadership role in ensuring that students with high needs have the learning programmes and support they need to achieve at our school, working alongside staff to ensure that professional development is in place and that effective teaching strategies are applied in classrooms. Also working alongside outside agencies to ensure external supports and resourcing are in place. Skills and experience:Knowledgeable about trauma informed and restorative practicesCommitment to ongoing professional development in te reo and Tikanga MaoriKnowledge of contemporary curriculum development and pedagogyStrong interpersonal skills to inspire and motivate others, a sense of humourKnowledge about the diverse needs of students including neuro-diverse students and students with high needs. This role comes with 2MU. More units can be negotiated for the right candidate with the right skills / experience.
