We are looking for a Tumuaki Taupuni - Head of Hall for a Hall that services a diverse group of young adults, including Maori and Pasifika, and international students.Key responsibilities:Champion community engagement and culture within the Hall and as part of the wider Hall community and University.Lead a team to provide a high quality and safe residential experience for students.Work with students to plan for their academic and personal wellbeing success.Ensure team training and development and be part of the training programme for staff across all Halls.Ensure budgets are met or exceeded, and maintenance requirements are met.Share on-call duties after hours with the Deputy Head of Hall.O pumanawa - About youYou will:Have experience working with young people, managing staff, as well as effectively managing financial and administrative systems.Ensure that the residences are appropriately maintained to the required safety and wellbeing requirements of the University, and the budget is well managed.Have a proven understanding of the duty of pastoral care.Have experience supporting student academic success and personal growth.Have experience as a first-responder for critical incidents and of risk management in a welfare context.There are many benefits to working at Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington, including being part of New Zealand's top research university.Close date for vacancy: 13 January 2025.
