Opportunities for training and development
You'll be responsible for helping to unload and load drop units on and off Bluebridge's ferries, which means you can swap long hours on the road away from friends and family with a job close to home that still utilises all your driving skills and experience.
The role works primarily in reverse and into specific parameters on the vessel; therefore, experience reversing truck and trailers and B-trains is required.
The position currently available is permanent between Wednesday and Sunday day or night shifts, which would include public holidays and weekends due to our 24-hour, 7-day-a-week operation.
Helping you understand the port environment is all part of the on-the-job training offered, and we'll also provide support getting your Dangerous Goods (DG) and F endorsements if required.
We're looking for someone who:
Has an excellent work ethic and attendance record
Is punctual, reliable, honest, and positive
Works in a safe and efficient manner and will comply with company policies and procedures
Can follow instructions and take direction
Works well in a diverse team environment
Strong communication skills - verbal and written
Of course, there are a few technical requirements which are important to have:
A Class 5 licence and a clean and safe driving record.
Experience driving B trains, Semis, and Truck and Trailers
Excellent reversing and backing skills
An open work visa or residency is required for all non-citizen candidates.
OSH Forklift certification or F endorsement and current W T R endorsements would be useful but are not critical.
