Truck Driver

Details of the offer

We have a vacancy for a Full-time Truck Driver for services in the Hawke's Bay region, the start and finish of work will be in Napier. We need someone who is willing to commit to our company and is prepared to take responsibility.

You will be required to work between a minimum of 30 hours to a maximum of 55 hours from Monday to Friday, or Saturday if required, from 2 AM onwards till 4 PM and longer if needed. We need someone who is willing to commit to our company and is prepared to take the responsibility and run with it. We as a business need to meet our health and safety obligations at all levels, including engaging staff and managing risks.

Job Responsibilities

Ability to operate company vehicles safely and responsibly.

Driving within the speed limit of 90km/h and wearing a seat belt while driving.

Complete a daily truck logbook and submit reports of mileage and retain fuel/toll receipts.

Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.

Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.

Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions.

Maintain a current clean Driver's License while driving a company vehicle.

The individual will be expected to have a standard of fitness sufficient to enable him to carry out all of the above duties.

Report serious mechanical problems to the manager.

Taking full responsibility of the unit while on duty.

Responsible for cleaning the truck.

Key Requirements

To be successful you must have at least 1 year of experience in a driving role OR a minimum of Level 2 qualification in driving or higher.

Valid and clean Driver License Class 5.

Manual gearbox knowledge.

Must be physically fit.

Knowledge of emergency procedures and how to handle hazardous conditions.

A sound understanding of Health and Safety along with the logbook requirements.

You should carry out routine checks of your truck.

You may require driving on weekends and public holidays.

A positive attitude and a great work ethic.

Clean character background.

Salary can be negotiated as per your proven experience level; it will range from $30 per hour to $32 per hour.
