Join our team in Coromandel Water Treatment Plant as a Treatment Operator and play a crucial role in maintaining our community's infrastructure. The Treatment Operator is primarily responsible for the operation and maintenance of Coromandel District Water and wastewater facilities, and network maintenance as required. The Treatment Operator is also responsible for the completion of administration work related to these activities.

The Operator must continually drive for improvement by promoting new initiatives, challenging the status quo and aiming for improved efficiencies and operational outcomes. 
In accordance with the Veolia Vision and Mission Statements, the Operator is responsible for building and maintaining successful and effective relationships with Veolia personnel, client representatives, and customers. 
Operate and maintain the water and wastewater facilities throughout the Coromandel in accordance with the 15-002 Contract and Veolia procedures.  Operate and maintain the water, wastewater and stormwater networks throughout the Coromandel in accordance with the 15-002 Contract and Veolia procedures.  Provide additional support to the other Water Treatment and Pump Station Network Operators.  Complete the associated administration work in an accurate and timely manner.  Positively contribute to the Coromandel operations team, particularly during periods of work overload, planned and unplanned staff absences and as part of the on-call roster, and by undertaking general operation and maintenance when appropriate.  Participate in the Coromandel on call roster for the 15-002 Contract on a 1 in 3 rotation.  Contribute to the district based operations team as required.  Contribute to the management of the Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management Systems while applying the procedures in all aspects of work.  Work to the company values involves all employees being Customer Focused, having Responsibility and Respect in the workplace, offering new ideas through Innovation, setting goals and disciplining oneself through Performance, and working together with Solidarity and TeamWork.  Comply with the requirements of Veolia New Zealand Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Policy Statements, including participation at local toolbox and health and safety meetings.  Adhere to all written and verbal instructions, procedures and information issued by Veolia New Zealand relating to both health and safety and environmental issues and with all relevant clauses of the Integrated Business Management System Manual.  Comply with the requirements of the company business management system and the Quality Policy for drinking water, wastewater treatment and disposal to contribute to the company commitment to provide safe, high quality drinking water and wastewater services that consistently meets or exceeds the requirements of the Contracts.  Report any problems with the business management system, particularly in relation to the management of occupational health and safety, environment and drinking water.  Undertake such general duties as required for the effective provision of services to the client and customers. 
What you'll need to be successful Level 3 National Certificate in Water/Wastewater Treatment – or working towards this qualification   Experience in water, wastewater and stormwater network operation and maintenance is advantageous.   Previous experience in service delivery and / or trade is considered advantageous.  Proven ability to maintain accurate work records.  Willing to establish and maintain working relationships with colleagues for a harmonious team environment.  An effective communicator who can interact and relate to staff at all levels of the organisation, and the client / customers.  A self-starter who can work with a high degree of autonomy.  Planning and organisational ability.  High degree of personal integrity.  A good work ethic.  Confidence in own judgement and capability.  Can maintain a stable performance level during periods of pressure.  Able to quickly adapt to changing circumstances.  A practical problem solver.  Willing to complete further training as required.  Computer literate.  Current driver's licence (preferably with Class 2).  Ability and willingness to work out of hours when required.  Required to take part in an after hours on-call roster.  Understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and Health and Safety legislation.
