Treasurer

Reporting to the committee at regular meetings the treasurer ensures that effective financial measures, controls and procedures are in place. Systems for these are already set up in Xero. Regular tasks include:
Preparing an annual budgetPaying invoicesMonitoring bank accountsRunning a fortnightly payrun for 2-3 employeesLiaising with the national office for year-end annual financial statements

PayingRequirementsSkills and experience include
• Knowledge of accounting principles, financial systems and controls.
• Experience preparing budgets, accounts and financial reports
• Knowledge of financial compliance requirements.
• Experience with or willingness to learn online accounting systems is preferred, especially with Xero
Support and guidance is available from the National Office
A Police background check is required for this role.
Time commitment2- 3 hours a week.
