Job Description The Pacific Area Travel Division under the Materials Management Department (MMD) is seeking a Travel Supervisor who will be based at the Pacific Area Office in Takapuna, Auckland. This is a permanent full-time position reporting to the Area Travel Manager. This position is pivotal in managing and coordinating day-to-day travel functions, ensuring seamless travel experiences while adhering to policies and regulations.
The candidate's travel expertise will support the Church's mission by providing training and experience in booking tickets, tariffs, routings, visa work, passports, and other travel-related tasks.
ResponsibilitiesAssist Travel Manager: Support all aspects of global travel, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to policies.Oversee Travel Quality: Monitor and enhance the quality of travel work and processes performed by the travel team.Ensure Compliance: Communicate with government officials, legal services, and travel colleagues to ensure compliance with visa, governmental, and legal regulations.Address Urgent Issues: Manage urgent travel issues during emergencies, such as missionary deaths, evacuations, and civil unrest.QualificationsBachelor's degree and 3+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Travel University specialist certification (or country equivalent) highly preferred.Strong understanding of global systems/tools, vendor contracts, and travel processes.Excellent communication and negotiation skills with travel vendors and executive personnel.Management or leadership experience, preferably in a Church environment.Knowledge of global visa requirements is preferred.Willingness to travel as required.Ability to make sound business decisions.Please note that only candidates with legal work eligibility to hold employment in New Zealand should apply.
