Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
We have an opportunity for a Transportation Engineer, for our Traffic Engineering South team. The role will be based in Manukau Civic Building.
Our Transportation Engineers deliver innovative and effective multi modal investigations, operational planning, and design of operational projects and programmes of work aimed at improving safety, optimising efficiency, promoting sustainable travel, and improving the effectiveness of the road network. They embody the safe system approach in all work, based upon our "Vision Zero" philosophy, and also provide specialist transportation engineering subject matter expertise and advice to our customers.
Na tau rourou | What will you bring?
As a seasoned professional, you will ideally bring 2 years of relevant experience in aspects of traffic engineering including analysis, investigation, planning and delivery. Along with this, you will also have:
A good understanding and appreciation of the workings and functions of local government, including current and future business drivers and statutory requirements.
Experience with traffic simulation tools is preferred, but not essential.
Fluency in the use of crash analysis systems (CAS) and ability to interpret and analyse information.
Established and utilised effective systems and processes to monitor financial performance.
Experience in use of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint.
