The Northland Transportation Alliance (NTA) is a partnering of the four Northland Council's roading and transport departments combining and co-locating the individual council staff and resources in collaboration with Waka Kotahi (NZTA).The NTA plans, designs, builds, operates, and maintains an integrated transport system. We are committed to working with our stakeholders to achieve our vision of "collectively creating better, safer and more accessible journeys across Northland".Te wero – The Challenge The NTA Transport team ensures that the Northland region receives the best possible services in terms of road safety, passenger transport, total mobility, and the development of Regional Transport Plans.The Transport Project Officer role is an integral part of the Transport team and you will work in a close-knit supportive group who work hard together and have fun while they do it.You will be tasked with:Managing contractual and operational related matters for all the CityLink and BusLink Bus Services contracted to the Northland Regional council (NRC while ensuring passenger needs are being dealt with in a timely manner.Facilitate productive collaboration with NZTA Waka Kotahi, all contractors involved in bus operations, and the NTA (National Transport Authority) while effectively communicating with the public.Meet reporting requirements for NZTA Waka Kotahi, NRC, and the NTA, and any other authorities as required.Input into preparation, consultation submission and compilation of Regional Land/Regional Public Transport Plans.Compilation of budgets for annual/long-term plans and to ensure approved budgets are met.Represent the NRC at Transport Special Interest Group – Passenger Transport meetings.Representing the NTA and NRC at public and other meetings.Working effectively with contractors, suppliers, and professional service providers.Proactive, appropriate engagement and consultation with communities and stakeholders.+ other exciting projectsThe holder of this role will be employed by the Northland Regional Council. The NTA Transport team are based out of our new Te Iwitahi, the Civic Centre offices in Whangarei.You will have a warm and friendly disposition. Your experience will demonstrate great time management and problem-solving skills. You will have well-developed communication skills with a strong customer service focus.We are seeking a proactive and confident self-starter who has proven ability to deliver high quality outcomes. You are enthusiastic, with the ability to develop innovative solutions whilst maintaining continuity of service through setting clear goals and targets.2 years' experience in similar roles.Experience in an administrative function and/or local government.Knowledge of transport issues within Northland.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.Highly developed documentation, report and workflow process writing skills.Strong community networking and engagement skills with the ability to be innovative around engagement processes.Hold a full, clean NZ Drivers LicenceWe offer a supportive team environment and are engaged in some exciting projects across the Northland Region.
