We are looking for a driven, passionate, and commercially minded leader to join us as our Transport and Dispatch Manager. This role is vital to the success of our transport operations and holds a senior position on our team. This role is extremely hands-on and dedicated. It is not for someone who wants to hide away from the operation and team.In this position, you will be part of a close-knit, agile team with a diverse fleet, including vans, curtainsider trucks, truck and trailer units, flat decks, and Hiab trucks. This role offers not only immediate responsibility but also the chance to help grow our business, leading to potential new roles and career advancement for both you and your teammates.In this role, it is crucial that you love the industry, love the smell of freight and will do what it takes to delight our customers. Experience in logistics, especially hands-on truck driving, is a strong advantage. Familiarity with technology and an eye for process improvements are also beneficial.Key ResponsibilitiesDaily Dispatch & Fleet Management: Coordinate our fleet and partners, keeping clients informed and satisfied.Consignment & Job Management: Oversee job costs, profitability, and efficiency to meet business goals.Team Leadership: Lead and motivate your team of drivers to meet our values, standards, and business objectives.Health & Safety Compliance: Model and enforce safe practices within the team.Process & Technology Improvements: Work with an open mind and forward-thinking approach to enhance our operations.Fleet & Equipment Oversight: Manage fleet operations, including servicing, RUCs, diesel, COFs, SOPs, equipment checks, and training support.Cross-functional Collaboration: Communicate effectively with our warehousing team and collaborate closely with the Warehouse Manager, General Manager, and Managing Director.What we expectIntegrity, commitment, and a drive to excel every day.Passion for the logistics industry with a competitive nature.Proven leadership experience, ideally within a logistics or transport setting.Willingness to work hands-on and be present in daily operations.Strong numerical and problem-solving skills, comfortable in a dynamic, occasionally high-stress environment.Competency in technology and systems, with experience in Excel and other relevant tools.A commitment to long-term career growth and contributing to a growing company with big ambitions.This is an exciting opportunity for the right person; if this sounds like you, please reach out.
