This is an exciting opportunity to join Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Te Matau a Maui as a Transition Officer (Holidays Act). You will work alongside a group of experienced payroll professionals to monitor payroll compliance. Join our team and play a crucial role in the health system at a local level.
Located in the sunny Hawkes Bay we live in pure paradise. We are known for award-winning food and wine, outstanding architecture, and warm balmy days surrounded by magnificent landscape.
In this role, you will provide oversight and support to the payroll teams and stakeholders to ensure ongoing compliance with the Holidays Act, tax and any other legislative regulations.
We have three vacancies for people who are passionate and keen to work in a complex environment and can appreciate that payroll is not just pushing buttons.
Key responsibilities include:
Ensuring compliant configuration is maintained in the payroll systemsEnsure compliance with all relevant statutory, safety and regulatory requirements as applicableDemonstrate performance improvement and efficiencySupport the implementation of agreed continuous improvement initiatives, monitors, quality and devises systems to support continuous improvementConduct audit checks to ensure that correct data is being recorded and correct payments are being made to employeesProvide support with analysis and calculations required for ongoing Holidays Act Remediation paymentsDevelop and run reports to ensure employee data is of a high quality and completeImplement MECA configurationsActively seek to identify and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement, bringing forward ideas for solutionsOur ideal candidate for this role will:
Have a minimum of 3 years payroll experience in the health sectorHave a sound understanding of the Holidays Act and experience working with Holidays Act remediation and rectificationExperience in payroll system implementations and documenting payroll processesHave the ability to analyse data and problem solveWork well independently yet also be an active contributor within the wider teamIf this sounds like you, review the Position Profile HERE and apply now!
