This is an exciting opportunity to join Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, Te Matau a Maui in the role of Transition Lead (Holidays Act). You will lead a tight-knit and passionate team of three direct reports, and have the opportunity to improve and initiate process and system advances. Work alongside a group of seasoned payroll professionals to help monitor payroll compliance.

In this role you will provide oversight and support to the payroll teams and stakeholders to ensure ongoing compliance with the Holidays Act, tax and any other legislative requirements.

Key responsibilities include:
Ensuring compliant configuration is maintained in the payroll systemsProviding training, coaching and support required for ongoing complianceProvide specialist expertise to future Holidays Act activities such as terminations, remediations and transfersDemonstrate performance improvement and efficiencyEnsure Collective Agreements are implemented correctlyRun regular audits to ensure the data held is up to date and accurateCollaborate with the Payroll Manager to define standards and approaches for payroll processesContribute to continuous development initiatives to improve the quality of our payroll systems, processes and dataOur ideal candidate for this role will:
Proven leadership capability and management experienceA minimum 5 years payroll experience in the health sectorHave and maintain comprehensive knowledge of NZ payroll legislations and ensure compliance, particularly with the Holidays ActPrevious Holidays Act remediation and rectification experienceExperience working with Health NZ related MECAs, SECAs and IEA'sKnowledge of the Leader payroll systemOutstanding stakeholder management and relationship building skillsHave the ability to analyse data with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving focusBe comfortable speaking up and calling things out when details aren't correctIf this sounds like you, review the Position Profile HERE and apply now!
