Here, success is about channelling your energy into memorable adventures, making this an exciting and rewarding opportunity you won't want to miss!About the RoleIn this role, you'll work closely with the Safety Manager to deliver essential staff training and monitor programme delivery, assisting instructors in planning and critiquing their client programmes. You will ensure that training meets organisational needs and oversee the Competency System. Your responsibilities also include providing high-quality instruction for the Tertiary programme, focusing on Certificate L4 and Diploma L5 courses, particularly in kayak instruction and environmental issues.Safety is a top priority; you'll need to comply with the Hillary Outdoors Safety Management System, report incidents and hazards, and model safety protocols. You will monitor safe practices in the field and ensure your training aligns with safety standards. Additionally, you'll assist in forecasting staffing needs, support the induction of new instructors, and help develop staff professional pathways. Unique responsibilities may be assigned based on your skills.Key Qualifications and SkillsCandidates should hold relevant qualifications, NZOIA certifications (Two NZOIA Level 2 awards) or equivalent industry experience and skills, as well as tertiary qualifications in Outdoor Education or a related field. Familiarity with safety management systems and protocols, as well as proven experience in planning, delivering, and evaluating outdoor education programs is important. Senior level instructional skills, particularly in kayak instruction are preferred.
