We are looking for a dedicated Operations Supervisor to join our team and lead our Traffic Management Crews.About the roleAs an Operations Supervisor you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Traffic Team, driving efficiency and innovation. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading a dedicated team of STMS' and TMO's (headcount is currently 22 with the team forecasted to grow).This is a permanent, full-time role typically starting at 6am. The ideal candidate will need to have the flexibility to work additional days/hours to meet the business needs.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and manage resourcing required to meet traffic management plan requirements.Liaise with internal and external stakeholders ensuring traffic management programs are delivered effectively.Manage subcontractors and suppliers.Maintain effective records, process paperwork, assist with financial management, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.Ensure all tasks are performed safely, report hazardous situations, and comply with safety procedures.Lead by example, promote company values, inspire team commitment, and ensure high standards of performance and behaviour.What you'll bring to the rolePrior operational management experience is essential, with a focus on resource allocation.Excellent people skills – proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams, fostering a collaborative environment that drives high performance and achieves business goals.Prior experience managing internal and external customers with proven success. You will be confident building and maintaining strong relationships to ensure exceptional service delivery and satisfaction.A high level of knowledge and commitment to operational health and safety best practice.Full clean New Zealand Driver's License, Minimum Class 2 and WTR.Previous experience in traffic management is beneficial.Higgins is committed to a drug-free workplace.
