The Central Interceptor is a wastewater tunnel that will run between the Mangere Wastewater Treatment Plant and Grey Lynn.
The 14.7-kilometre-long tunnel will run between 15 and 110 metres below ground.
It will cross the Manukau Harbour at about 15 metres under the seabed.
Along the route, it will connect to the existing wastewater network, which will divert flows and overflows into the tunnel.
What you will be doing: Reporting to the Lead STMS (Site Traffic Management Supervisor) you will assist with the day-to-day traffic control activities for the Central Interceptor Project.
This is a full-time role, fixed term for 12-months.
Key Responsibilities: Some of the things you may get involved with but may not be limited to the following; Perform day-to-day traffic control activities, such as laying out cones, barriers and directing traffic Following the traffic management plan under the supervision of the STMS Ensure the site is always in a safe and tidy condition and wastage is minimised Check that duties are completed efficiently to meet or exceed requirements The successful candidate will have: 1-2 years of traffic control/ labouring experience preferred Traffic Control qualification from NZTA ideal Experience working on construction sites preferred Positive and proactive approach toward teamwork Good communication skills and a 'can do' attitude Physically fit and safety aware Ability to work under pressure, determine priorities and follow instructions Construct Safe Level 1 is ideal but not essential - we will provide this training!
