About the role New Zealand's Aluminium Smelter (NZAS) are looking for a trade-qualified Electrical Tradesperson to join our Maintenance Support team. The successful candidate will join our Day Shift Roster team which consists of either a Monday to Friday or a 9 day fortnight pattern.

Reporting to our Crew Leaders and Superintendents, you'll join our close-knit, proud and hardworking teams following a structured process to optimise preventative maintenance tactics and minimise overall business costs, identifying and conducting planned and unplanned repair and diagnostic work within production time constraints on a wide variety of equipment.
Your unwavering commitment to the safety of yourself and your team will see you promote and identify HSE opportunities to improve equipment, processes and behaviours.
You will have the opportunity to utilise your strong problem-solving skills to add value through identifying and implementing improvement initiatives and applying robust defect elimination practices.
Responsibilities include: Identify and conduct planned and unplanned repair and diagnostic work within production time constraints on a wide variety of equipment. Promote and identify HSE opportunities to improve equipment, processes and behaviours. Add value through identifying and implementing improvement initiatives and applying robust defect elimination practices. Manage your workload and act as a point of contact on jobs. What you'll bring You'll have excellent communication skills and demonstrated experience in both autonomous and team-based work. Your curious mind will have you self-motivated, with the desire to learn and demonstrate an unwavering commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
To be successfully considered, you'll have:
NZ Electrical registration and a current practising licence. A high degree of flexibility and strong problem-solving skills to identify and conduct planned and unplanned repair and diagnostic work.
