Maintenance Trades Assistant & Hot Work Permit Issuer – Night Shift

An opportunity has arisen for a fulltime Trades Assistant / Hot Work Permit Issuer to join our Maintenance team on the Night shift working Monday to Thursday 5.30pm – 3.00am. Additional hours may be required during busy periods with rostered dayshift hours during the Maintenance shut periods.
Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator for Secondary Processing, this is a hands-on position, which will work alongside our Night Shift Maintenance Fitters and Mechanical contractors. This role will operate our Pegasus Telehandler, issue hot work permits, be a fire watch and assist in preventative maintenance, machinery greasing & other light maintenance work.
The successful candidate will ideally be experienced operating mobile plant, preferably within a construction or heavy industrial environment. Experience in hot work processes and permit issuing will be an advantage.
To be successful you will ideally have the following skillset, experience and other attributes:
Mechanical aptitude
Attention to detail
Relevant certifications such as mobile plant operation, height and confined space
Confident with computer systems to enter findings and create work requests
Experience in a maintenance trades assistant role on a busy industrial site working a broad range of duties
Be comfortable with undertaking repetitive work schedules
Demonstrate a 'Safety first' approach to work and high levels of initiative
