On-site role located in Whangaparaoa; Permanent, full-time opportunity in a small, multi-skilled team. Initial roster pattern would be Wednesday (07:00-15:30), Thursday (10:30-19:00), Friday (07:00-15:30) and Saturday (07:00-15:30) - 32 hours per week.About the roleWe are looking for a passionate, skilled person for our Trade (Timber and Building) department to serve the Whangaparaoa community. You would assist customers in choosing products according to their needs, budget and project requirements (big or small). In time you would become a subject matter expert on all timber and building related products and provide related technical information and advice. Your day-to-day duties would be to operate all trade machinery including saws, forklifts/ reach-trucks /scissor lifts etc.; ensure timber wastage is kept to a minimum; correct processes are followed; ensure cleanliness and tidiness of the trade yard and drive thru; ensure all timber products are sold under the correct SKU's and measurements (linear meters).What will you bring?You would be an experienced trade yard retail assistant or a semi-qualified Tradie with 1 - 2 years' experience or a Tradie ready to come off the tools (and out of the weather).You will be regarded as physically fit and capable of lifting or handling.You would hold a valid, full, clean Class 1 driver's license essential (F endorsement and OSH accredited forklift certificate is helpful but not essential as we endeavour to assist you with obtaining this if you have a full drivers licence).You would be able to drive delivery vehicles and pool cars if and when required.You would be a local resident in Red Beach, Army Bay, Gulf Harbour, Sanmore Bay, Arkles Bay or the Tindalls Beach area.Apply NowApply with your CV and cover letter.
