Trade Waste Officer

We're seeking a dedicated Trade Waste Officer to join our Community Infrastructure Group and play a crucial role in managing compliance for trade waste discharges. In this new role, you'll collect and prepare compliance monitoring samples, analyze data, and interpret test results from industrial and commercial discharges. Your work will ensure that discharges to the sewer system meet trade waste consents and that wastewater and stormwater treatment processes are efficient and effective. You will also engage, collaborate, and educate local businesses and the community to promote better environmental outcomes. As the ideal candidate for the Trade Waste Officer position, you should have relevant experience in the water industry or extensive experience in regulatory and compliance roles. Hands-on experience with Local Authority Three Waters networks, strong data analysis, and report writing skills are crucial. Familiarity with legislation such as the Local Government Act, Water Services Act 2021, and related bylaws is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office/365 and experience with Infrastructure Data and SCADA systems are advantageous. Key attributes include a focus on high performance, exceptional relationship-building skills, and excellence in public liaison and customer service. You should demonstrate technical proficiency, problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive approach, while maintaining composure under pressure.
