Role Purpose
The Trade Operator role is responsible for consistently delivering outstanding order execution across equities, fixed income and foreign exchange for our Jarden Wealth clients, ensuring each market trade is executed accurately. The Trade Operator supports the achievement of the best outcomes for our client by remaining up-to-date with regulatory compliance and FirstCape policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities
Assist in operating market orders as instructed by Daily processing of phone orders and managing the Operator desk phones
Daily processing of all email orders and responding to client email queries
Assist in projects as required
Maintain current knowledge of markets, research, appropriate NZX rules and government legislation
Ensure all NZX regulations are complied with
Complete all Company training as required
Provide ad-hoc support to clients and the team as required
Cancel and rebook trades when required
Investigate any errors and report P&L
Meeting all reporting requirements on a timely basis
Reconciliation of internal order management systems and broker order pads.
Keep clear communication on the Trade Desk regarding allocation of tasks.
Stay connected with advisors regarding open orders and market movements.
Manage client orders and ensure they are executed to achieve the best result for the client in both local and international markets.
Ensure that all order requests are entered into the market in a timely manner.
Ensure all orders are accurately booked to prevent errors and discrepancies.
Minimize Client/FirstCape risk.
Develop an understanding of the algorithms we use to execute trades and when/why to use them.
Develop an understanding of back-office processes in relation to our bookings and how they relate.

Knowledge & Experience
Understanding of global financial markets.
Business and industry knowledge specific to execution, trade order management and trading processes.
An understanding of/interest in trading methodologies.
Skills & Experience:
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Ability to work under pressure for long, varied hours and maintain composure.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Experience providing excellent service and exceeding expectations.
Interest in/understanding of global markets and broking practices.
Reasoning/problem solving.
Qualifications
Degree qualified within a relevant field.
