This involves the proactive management and delivery to the national portfolio of facilities including NZDF Ohakea, Linton, Waiouru and Burnham. We are looking for a Trade Assistant to support our Facilities team at Waiouru Military Camp.Some of the duties include but are not limited to:Prioritize Zero Harm and safety in all tasks and actions.Work under the guidance of a designated leader, following project and service delivery parameters (time, materials, cost, resources).Promote positive customer relationships through collaboration and value-added interactions.Perform building maintenance tasks (e.g., gutter cleaning, external washes) and assist skilled tradespeople with repairs and project work.Follow contract requirements and complete tasks efficiently, coordinating work in a compliant manner.Assist with risk management, promote business values, and escort authorized individuals as needed.Nga pukenga matua | Important SkillsPossess a Manual Class 1 Driver's License and technical literacy for operating electronic devices.Able to plan and execute jobs, operate and maintain equipment independently.Strong communication skills and attention to detail, following instructions accurately.Physically fit, capable of performing manual labor tasks, and adaptable to changing priorities.Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with a proactive, results-oriented attitude.Technical skills in using basic hand tools and power tools, and computer literacy.Desirable experience with customer interaction and a willingness to learn new technologies and software.Ko te take ka parekareka e koe ki te mahi ki konei | Why you will enjoy working hereA role with Downer can advance your career and expand your skills.
