Toyworld Whangarei is looking for a dedicated and experienced Assistant Store Manager to support the day-to-day operations and eventually grow into a Store Manager role.

We're looking for a mature, motivated, and experienced individual to join our leadership team and help manage the store's operations with an eye toward future growth.
Responsibilities: Support the Store Manager with daily operations and staff management.
Oversee and enhance the customer experience by providing knowledgeable service and fostering a welcoming store environment.
Assist with inventory management, stock control, and visual merchandising to ensure the store is well-organized and appealing.
Handle cash transactions, manage store budgets, and optimize sales performance.
Lead and motivate the retail team, providing training and development where needed.
Participate in planning and executing promotions, store events, and community initiatives.
Take initiative in problem-solving and addressing customer inquiries or issues promptly.
Assist in future hiring and staff development as the store continues to grow.
Requirements: Proven retail experience, ideally in a managerial or assistant managerial role.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
Retail experience in the toy industry is a big plus, though not essential.
Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
Confidence in handling store operations, inventory management, and visual merchandising.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
A strong passion for toys and providing memorable shopping experiences for families.
