Machine Operators (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics) MacDirect is a sawmill and one of New Zealand's largest suppliers of Macrocarpa/Cypress timbers, based in Patumahoe in South Auckland.
We are currently looking for a Timber Machinist to operate our timber moulder and planers.
This is a key role within our operation.
The ideal candidate is someone who is able to work to production deadlines and be sole charge, managing our workflow and support staff.
Leadership and experience are a must, as well as being flexible to meet the demands of our customers.
Duties: Setup and operate our 3-year-old, 6 head Stirling Moulder.
Setup and operate other planers in the profiling department.
Ideally have experience in profile grinding.
Maintenance of machines in our profiling department.
Maintenance and care of machine parts and heads.
Drive production targets and quality control of all timber processed through the department.
Operation of Fork Hoist.
Manage support staff.
Timber grading experience is ideal.
Ensure health and safety standards are met by all members of the department.
Other duties as reasonably required.
Candidate Qualities: Candidates will ideally hold a NZ level 4 Timber Machining qualification or have at least three years proven experience on timber Moulders.
Enjoy working as part of a small, tight-knit team.
Customer and product-focused.
Physically fit and able to be on feet most of the working day.
Able to work 7-4.30 weekdays.
Some weekends may be required due to demand.
Experience using computers.
Leadership experience and able to self-manage and work autonomously.
This is a permanent, full-time position with a minimum of 40-45 hours per week.
