We're an established locally owned and operated company and pride ourselves on providing our customers with great service.We're looking for two Timber Machinists - 1x Head Rig Operator, 1x Timber Machinist.
Both these positions are permanent full time, Monday to Friday, at our sawmill in Inglewood, (New Plymouth), Taranaki.Requirements for this role:At least 3 years' work experienceMust pass a pre-employment drug test and background criminal checkKey responsibilities include:Set up and calibrate saws to achieve precise cutsMaximise production output and minimise wastage materialContinuous monitoring of the cutting process, making adjustments to ensure optimal performance and product qualityLoading of logs, checking alignment and position for accurate cuttingInspection of logs & timber before and after cutting to ensure they meet quality standardsStrictly adhere to and foster compliance of all relevant company Health and Safety protocolsMonitoring of mill equipment and informing the mill manager of any required mill maintenance or damage observedFostering a culture of best practice and enthusiasm towards your work amongst your colleaguesKey and ideal attributes for the role are:Good working knowledge of timber machineryA degree or qualification industry related a bonusLoader license a bonusBasic computer skills and strong math abilityExcellent hand/eye coordinationMotivated to continuously improve and upskill all areas within your roleWe'll see you right by offering a competitive remuneration package.
