On the Coast our roading teams help to keep our transport routes functioning; we manage, install, and repair water, stormwater, and sewer infrastructure; and we maintain our Districts' parks, gardens, playgrounds, and reserves. What we do differently: We train our people and progress them through the company as opportunities arise We match up to 4% Kiwisaver from day one, then pay 6% after five years' service We support our people with free access to a confidential Employee Assistance Programme Before employment we will undertake a Ministry of Justice background check, and you must pass Drug & Alcohol testing Job Description Objective Undertake any further studies where required Support teams in the construction and maintenance of utilities infrastructure Utilities Duties - Water – Assist with: Water breaks & emergency work. Hydrant flow testing including painting & reflectorized blue markers. Clearing access tracks. Flushing of all dead-lines. Utilities Duties – Stormwater (SW) – Assist with: SW breaks & emergency work. Inlet checks and clearing. Sump checks and cleaning of grates. Hydro blasting maintenance on SW lines. Utilities Duties – Wastewater – Assist with: Hydro blasting maintenance on wastewater lines. Wastewater breaks & emergency work. Manhole Lifting and inspection. Traffic Management Assist with setting up temporary traffic management. Adhere to all road safety and traffic management rules. Plant Only use plant if you have been fully trained and are signed off as competent. Undertake routine maintenance of plant such as cleaning and greasing. Reporting Report any risks to supervisor immediately. Keep accurate timesheet records. Keep accurate Trainee logbook records. Other Ensure adherence to Company policy and compliance with Health and Safety in all tasks. Maintain WDC contract assets. Other duties or tasks throughout the West Coast as required. Desired Skills and Experience Full Class 1 Driver licence, or higher An interest in further studies in 3 Waters (drinking water, stormwater, wastewater) or already completing studies towards a Certificate in these areas #J-18808-Ljbffr
