About the role

As a Theatre Suite Assistant, you will be involved in the following:

Supporting our nurses and other members of the healthcare team

Patient handling and transfers

Transporting specimens and blood

Cleaning of department and communal facilities daily

Restocking and setting up of equipment

Answering phones, and much more!

Becoming a Healthcare/Theatre Suite Assistant in the health sector is a great opportunity to:

About the Team/Service/Location

About you:

We are seeking applications from those with previous health care experience, and from those who are dynamic, outgoing, friendly and can demonstrate a high level of initiative. You will be committed to high standards of practice, be well organised and have excellent communication skills. You will be a team player and able to work with a diverse range of people as part of our Perioperative team.

It is important that candidates are motivated, flexible, have a level of maturity about them and of course plenty of enthusiasm. Experience working with people in a caring capacity is also essential, whether that experience is gained from within a professional environment, or from caring for children or family members. Our induction includes a two-day training programme to ensure you are fully equipped to under the role as a valuable part of the team. You must have the right to work in New Zealand to apply for this position.

Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.

Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
