Mo Tenei Turanga Mahi - About the Role
This is a casual role with the purpose of providing technical expertise and support primarily in the activities delivered in The Zone Sport science and Wellness centre. Support may also be required within the Allied Health suite of programmes which include but not limited to Bachelor of Applied Science (BAppSci), and the Certificate in Exercise (CiE). Responsibilities may include:
Supporting technical requirements for practical courses delivered in the BAppSci and CiE.
Supporting staff and student research.
Nga Pukenga Me Nga Wheako - Skills and Experience
A tertiary qualification in an appropriate discipline
Knowledge of commonly used procedures and equipment used in sport and nutrition labs
Understanding and experience with laboratory practicals and protocols with humans as subjects
Familiarity with equipment such as (but not limited to) treadmills, ergometers, lactates, biomechanics equipment, sports science software
Experience in implementing and maintaining quality systems and be committed to the maintenance of high standards
Effective verbal and written communication skills
A strong sense of responsibility, and proven organisational and time management skills
Enjoys the challenge of managing competing demands
Proven ability to work both independently and cooperatively as part of a team
