In this role, you will be supporting our manufacturing environment with electronics for automated product testing. This requires the support of the existing fleet of test jigs as well as the development of new designs. This role supports our factory with the required equipment to ensure all sold products meet design specifications.
This role works as part of a small team environment with a wide technical focus.
About Pertronic
Pertronic Industries designs and manufactures advanced fire detection equipment in its Wellington region facility. We also have sales and distribution offices in Auckland, Christchurch, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, and Phoenix (USA).
We are a team of approximately 164 people, with over 130 people based in the Lower Hutt head office facility. This office is only 100m away from the Wingate train station. We manufacture many different products and are experiencing significant growth in our domestic and overseas markets.

About the role
Your responsibilities will include:
Formulating test processes
Applying instrumentation measurement techniques
Design, development, and testing of software used in embedded 8/16/32 bit microcontrollers (PIC, ATmega, ARM) with peripherals for timing, analogue interfacing, and communications protocols (SPI, UART, etc.) Almost all programmed in C.
Using high-level languages, Python, C++ using QT
Logging data performance analysis
Supporting manufacturing processes
Documentation of designs (component selection, circuit function, fabrication notes, specifications, etc.)
Other activities may include:
Prototype board development and testing for products
Performance and applicable standards compliance testing
Skills and experience

You'll also need to meet the following criteria:
Five or more years of experience in electronic circuit design
Experience with both analogue signal conditioning, digital circuitry, and microcontrollers
Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering
Strong analytical thinker
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
