Position Summary As a Test Analyst at Catch Design, you ensure the successful functionality of high-quality mobile apps and websites.
Working closely within a cross-functional team, you will carry out a range of testing activities to support the effective release of software that meets client needs and our level of quality.
Your role includes designing and executing test suites, automating testing, end-to-end UI testing, analysing test data, writing and preparing test reports, collaborating with stakeholders, and continuously improving Catch's testing standards and processes.
Location: Work from our Wellington or Auckland office 2 or 3 days per week.
You are welcome to work from home 2 or 3 days per week.
Testing Strategy and Execution: Design, document, and execute manual and automated test suites for iOS, Android, websites, web applications, and APIs.Implement end-to-end UI testing using frameworks like Selenium and Appium to ensure comprehensive test coverage.Identify, log, and track bugs or issues affecting usability and functionality.Write and present detailed test reports to stakeholders, summarising testing activities, results, and recommendations.Support the successful delivery of low-defect, high-quality solutions through thorough functional, regression, and smoke testing.Collaboration and Client Engagement: Partner with the Project Delivery team and other stakeholders to align testing with project goals and timelines.Act as a client-facing advocate, attending project meetings, work-in-progress sessions, and stand-ups to represent testing needs.Build collaborative relationships with clients, providing updates and insights that align with their expectations.Process Improvement and Best Practices: Champion testing standards at Catch and contribute to refining testing methods.Collaborate with Technical Leads and Developers to identify and integrate automated testing solutions.Stay informed of industry best practices and recommend new testing tools and methodologies.Collaborate with team members to develop and adopt new testing approaches.Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Produce and maintain clear documentation for testing processes, results, and defect tracking.Mentor other testers and share knowledge across the team.Contribute to staff recruitment, onboarding, and off-boarding within the testing practice.Quality Assurance and Security: Ensure comprehensive test coverage, including identifying security vulnerabilities.Actively participate in scoping and estimating work, aligning testing resources with project needs.Proficiency in using tools like JIRA for documentation, defect tracking, and project management.Essential Qualifications/Experience 5+ years of commercial functional testing experience, including designing and running automated test suites.Experience automating end-to-end UI testing using frameworks.Proven experience testing Android and iOS apps in an Agile environment, with at least 3 years of Scrum experience.Proficiency in writing and presenting test reports to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, Charles Proxy) and database query tools.Proficiency in using Microsoft App Center, JIRA, and other testing tools.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects within time and budget constraints.Essential Attributes Commitment to Catch Design's mission, with a positive and collaborative approach.Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude toward problem-solving.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Continuous learner with an intrinsic motivation to stay current with industry trends.Friendly, approachable, and supportive, wanting to mentor others.Key Metrics for Success: High-quality project delivery with minimal defects.Positive client feedback on testing support and delivery quality.Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.Proactive contributions to testing process improvements.Knowledge-sharing and mentorship that enhances team capability.You have an attention to detail that borders on the obsessive, with a deep understanding of how technology impacts the end user experience.
