About the team | Ko te ropu nei The Survey Team delivers a diverse range of engineering and cadastral survey services in support of both capital and operational projects, contributing to the growth and success of our City.
We are part of the Technical Services and Design Unit, an in-house shared service comprised of technical and design professionals responsible for providing specialist advice and services across the Council.
About the role | Ko te mahi nei Your responsibilities include:
Providing cadastral and engineering surveying services for water supply, stormwater, and wastewater utilities, roading, housing, and recreation facilities to enable delivery of Christchurch City Council's (CCC) capital programme.Undertaking cadastral surveys for lodgement with LINZ, including working with the Licenced Cadastral Surveyor and the Property Team.Conducting topographical surveys for a wide variety of infrastructure and roading projects, and delivering the data to the project teams.Providing surveying support for various requests such as monitoring, survey control, mark protection, and resource management.Acting as a professional advisor for issues relating to legal and engineering surveying.Managing projects and providing surveying support to the Senior Licensed Cadastral Surveyor.Providing advice to Property Consultancy and Legal Services relating to property purchases for Capital Programme projects.To be successful in this role, you will have strong relationship management skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
Your strong communication supports your report writing and presentation skills, ensuring your messages are understood by all levels of expertise.
You will bring with you:
NZ Diploma in Surveying (NZQA level 6) or other appropriate tertiary qualification, with significant postgraduate surveying experience.Postgraduate experience with a focus on cadastral, spatial, and engineering surveying.Experience in a similar role, preferably in a large-scale/complex organisation.Experience working in a local government environment, or on projects that require local government approvals and consenting would be a great advantage.Advanced computer skills in the Windows environment, including Landonline and 12d Model.
Experience processing UAV and scan data is desirable.What's in it for you?

Hours of work - 37.5 - 40 hours per week
Position - Permanent Location - This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices - 53 Hereford Street Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $81,227 - $90,252 per annum based on a 40-hour week.
Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills, and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
