We make sure our learners are well equipped for the future needs of employers, by providing them with a mix of hands-on and classroom-based learning.Te aheinga: The opportunityAs our Technician - Applied Science, you will be responsible for the setup and pack down of our teaching labs, where we deliver teaching on a range of topics from anatomy dissections to plant identification and simulated veterinary anaesthesia. You will also be looking after laboratory instruments and training people on how to use them, while upholding our Health and Safety guidelines here at Unitec. Additionally, you may be responsible for supporting fieldwork, collecting plant and insect samples for laboratories, and participating in various research projects.You'll have:An understanding or desire to learn te reo Maori, tikanga Maori, and the values and practices of kaupapa Maori.Evidence of active engagement in building diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplaces/environments.Expertise in providing technical support, advice, and assistance to students, academic staff, and research teams across various activities.Experience in facilitating and developing staff and student knowledge in the use of tools, machinery, equipment, and processes, with a focus on safe working practices.Responsibility for performing a range of duties related to the operation of specialized laboratories.Tono mai: How to ApplyTo be considered for this position, applicants must be NZ Citizens or NZ Permanent Residents.
