Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity An exciting opportunity exists for a PC3 technician to provide a technical laboratory service for research within the Faculty of Medical and Health Science, where we house one of the few PC3 facilities in New Zealand.
We are seeking a talented lab technician to provide lab support to multiple, highly respected research groups across the University. You will support cell and viral culture in PC1, PC2 and PC3 laboratories. This role involves a wide range of responsibilities, meaning our ideal candidate must be well organised, able to multitask and adapt to the dynamic nature of working with multiple research teams when required. If you have a genuine interest to build upon your career, this position will provide on the job learning and training to develop further in this area.
This is a fulltime (37.5 hours per week), fixed-term (up to 16 months) opportunity.
The remuneration is $58,300 - $65,000 dependent on experience.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
A BSc or MSc in Biomedical or Biological Sciences. 4 plus years inclusive of time spent during apprentice / practical work experience or experience gained while completing tertiary study. Experience in aseptic cell culture techniques and microbiological techniques. Excellent communication skills.
