AUT's School of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our dedicated team. We are looking for a hard-working and adaptable individual who can support a range of tasks related to Mechanical Engineering, with a particular emphasis on providing excellent customer service. This is not a senior position but requires someone capable of working flexibly across multiple areas as needed.
Key Responsibilities:

Maintain, configure, and demonstrate the use of mechanical lab equipment, including the Euler Buckling of a Column, Pin Jointed Frameworks, TH3 Saturation Pressure, and HT10XC Heat Transfer, to ensure operational efficiency.
Provide technical support in Mechanical Engineering, focusing on tribology, materials testing, surface roughness, fatigue testing, and related tasks.
Work closely with students, staff and external clients to support teaching and research activities, ensuring they receive a positive and memorable experience.
Enforce Health & Safety protocols in laboratory environments.

What You Bring:

A tertiary qualification (certificate, diploma, or degree) or relevant experience working in an educational environment.
Excellent customer service focus, with the ability to communicate clearly and patiently with staff and students.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically when tackling complex technical issues.
Flexibility and adaptability to handle a wide variety of tasks in a fast-paced educational environment.
Ability to work with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds and be a good team player.

Salary Range: $56,911 - $75,003 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
