Technical Writer

Kia ora!The Quality & Safety Team in Engineering & Maintenance have a vacancy for a Technical Writer to join the team in either Auckland, Christchurch or Nelson. This role will be focused on assisting engineers to develop and improve company policy and procedural documentation. In a technical environment such as ours, having clear and user-friendly documentation for all of our activities forms a critical part of ensuring operational safety. These roles are great opportunities to be at the leading edge of shaping our quality & safety culture.In this role you will:Take part in workshops with various technical experts (often representing different work locations - e.g. Auckland, Christchurch, Nelson) to help them develop and document a single best practice process for their work.Coach and guide technical subject matter experts within Engineering & Maintenance on developing process maps and documentation.Develop best practice styles and formats for policy & process documentation.Work with our Digital team to help select and deploy content delivery software including web and mobile solutions.Have a strong interest in writing, and the ability to distill overly complicated technical descriptions down to clear, short and simple language.Develop, document, and revise specialised processes to ensure OEM procedures and legislative standards are maintained.This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a high-performing team.
