Fleetpin is made up of a great team that are not only innovative and agile, but always seek to go the extra mile to provide solutions.Role DescriptionThe Technical Support Specialist at Fleetpin plays a critical role in ensuring the successful operation, installation, and ongoing support of GPS tracking devices and fleet management systems.
This position involves daily communication with auto-electric GPS installers to ensure devices are installed correctly and to provide other technical assistance where required.The Technical Support Specialist will also be required to work in the field on occasion, conducting installations, diagnoses, and repairs of GPS devices as necessary.
They will be an active contributor to Fleetpin's solutions-driven, innovation-focused culture, helping to develop new ways to leverage GPS technology.This role requires strong technical, problem-solving, and customer service skills, along with a solid background in DC auto-electrical and IT based software.Auto-Electrical Expertise: Solid knowledge of DC auto-electrical systems is essential.
Familiarity with AC electrical or electronic engineering will also be considered.Hardware & Device Knowledge: Understanding GPS devices and their accessories capabilities and uses.Networking Knowledge: Experience with SIM cards, APNs, and mobile connectivity for GPS devices.Software Knowledge: Experience with software/firmware, configuration tools and cloud-based systems.Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose technical issues with GPS devices, fleet tracking platforms, and system integrations.Customer Service: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to customers and installers.Installer Support: Ability to provide clear, remote technical guidance to auto-electric GPS installers, both in New Zealand and abroad.Team Collaboration: Willingness to collaborate with other departments, including Sales, Product Development, and R&D.Creative Thinker: Ability to contribute to the solutions-driven, innovation-focused culture at Fleetpin.Product Development: Willingness to explore new use cases for GPS devices, from integrating new sensors to enabling multi-device connectivity.Qualifications2+ years of experience in a technical support, auto-electrical, or electrical engineering role.Strong technical knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting.Strong background in DC auto-electrical systems; experience in AC electrical or electronic engineering will also be considered.Experience working with CRM ticketing systems (Hubspot) and Google/Microsoft suites.Seniority levelEntry levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionInformation Technology
