This position is responsible for providing technical support to the Queenstown Contracts, including operational, process, compliance and technical advice.What's on offerA great team-working environmentEmployee assistance programs (EAP) through assure which covers mental health, nutrition, financial, legal, coaching and career transition supportOpportunities for professional growth and developmentStable employment with a reputable organisationMeaningful work that contributes to the well-being of our communityWhat you'll be responsible forResponsibilities include:To provide Technical support to the Contract Manager Queenstown, the contract maintenance coordinator, supervisors, operators and fellow engineers.Monitor and report on plant and reticulation performance including compliance with New Zealand water and wastewater standards and resource consents.Undertake necessary operational and contractual reporting, analysis of expenditure, plant performance investigations.Manage through the Contact, corrective actions required for plant and reticulation to correct/avoid non-compliance and corrective actions identified as a result of planned maintenance activities.Advise and assist with operations and maintenance of treatment processes and reticulation systems and implement and manage projects to improve and optimise performance of the treatment plants and reticulation systems.Contribute to achievement of all treatment and reticulation related performance targets.Coordinate and provide contractual reporting to the client and contact Manager.Implement the requirements of the Drinking Water Standards for New Zealand 2005 or any subsequent amendments and participate in the development and implementation of water quality and environmental improvement programs and water grading projects.Conduct investigations relating to asset management and preparation of client briefs for capital works.Contribute to the management of Health and Safety, Quality Assurance and Environmental Management Systems.Participate in management level on-call roster.To undertake such general duties as required for the effective provision of services to the client.Manage district-wide SCADA system to ensure effective monitoring, reporting and control of remote sites and maintenance of alarm systems.Comply with clients requirements for the capture and maintenance of asset data through the HANSEN asset management system.Operate and maintain internal database systems used for the capture of SCADA and Laboratory data and reporting to the client.What you'll need to be successfulQualifications:Degree with considerable relevant industry experience.Experience:Understanding of water and wastewater operations, maintenance activities and criticality of operations requirements.Understanding of Veolia Water in particular Core Values / Culture (preferable).Understanding of business and contract models.Exposure to the water and/or process industry and basic understanding of various water treatment technologies and processes.Proven ability to establish and maintain working relationships with colleagues.Personal Attributes:Ability to assess and assimilate a wide range of information and consolidate a position or assessment effectively.Persistence and confidence in own judgement and capability.Ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances, strong analytical skills and focus on quality of work.A self starter with an ability to work with a high degree of autonomy.Results focussed team player.High degree of personal integrity.Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking abilities, and sound analytical and problem solving skills.A confident and effective communicator with the ability to build strong relationships and interact at all levels of organisations (including corporate and large public sector organisations).Ability to multi-task and manage time and priorities effectively.Other relevant skills or information:Strong understanding of Microsoft Office software.Basic understanding of SCADA systems.An ability and willingness to work out of hours when required.An understanding of ISO 9002, ISO 14001 and Health and Safety legislation.At Veolia Australia and New Zealand, you'll join a team of over 6000 passionate innovators and good humans.
