About the Role (your why) This hybrid role is designed to bridge the gap between automation testing and DevOps, with a 50/50 focus split.
The first half of the role centres on improving automated testing frameworks by enhancing their efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
This involves collaborating closely with the automation testing team to address technical challenges, implement best practices, and mentor team members to elevate overall testing quality.
The second half emphasizes driving automation within the broader development team, particularly in DevOps workflows.
This includes optimizing CI/CD pipelines, integrating testing automation into the deployment process, and promoting infrastructure-as-code practices to streamline operations.
By combining expertise in both areas, the role aims to foster a culture of efficiency, collaboration, and continuous improvement across teams.
What you'll do Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable automated testing frameworks.
Collaborate with the automation testing team to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges.
Establish and enforce best practices for test automation within the team.
Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to improve test scripts and framework quality.
Enhance the integration of automated testing into CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployments.
Develop and maintain documentation for frameworks, processes, and tools to ensure team-wide understanding.
Mentor and guide team members to improve their technical proficiency in test automation.
Identify opportunities to introduce and optimize automation within DevOps workflows.
Streamline CI/CD pipelines for improved efficiency and reliability in code deployment.
Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management using IaC tools.
Collaborate with developers to integrate testing automation early in the software development lifecycle.
Implement monitoring and logging systems to support automated alerting and post-deployment validation.
Drive initiatives to align DevOps practices with automation strategies across the organization.
Act as a liaison between development, testing, and operations teams to foster a collaborative automation culture.
What you'll bring Proven track record in designing and improving automated testing framework Deep understanding of tools like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.
Experience mentoring and supporting technical teams to resolve challenges.
Demonstrated ability to manage and enhance CI/CD pipelines.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
Experience working with Agile or DevOps development teams to streamline workflows.
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools to ensure system reliability post-deployment.
Experience working with Azure or similar.
Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Bicep).
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Ability to mentor team members and share best practices effectively.
A continuous learning attitude to stay updated on industry trends and tools.
