Salaries are very competitive. We pay by the hour with a minimum 37.5 hour full time work week. This means overtime gets paid. The base 37.5 hour salary is at least at the upper quartile of ACENZ total package salaries of 2020 and on top of this you have overtime and bonus(es) plus surgical insurance covered and a huge TMCo paid social calendar. Job description
With a large forward workload, we're looking for a Technical Director to come in and take a technical lead within our structural team. You'll work with a competent team of 20, that is collaborative, able to think outside the box and are naturally wired to go beyond the status quo.
You will be involved in a wide variety of work including commercial, retail, government, hospitality, education, aged care, high-end residential, industrial projects, etc., from project conception through to completion. Your key responsibilities will consist of being a structural team leader, engineering design, networking and marketing, establishing and maintaining relationships, meeting with clients and onsite observation.
Your Role Will Include:
Managing the effective delivery of project packages
Leading and providing input into strategic pursuits and bids
Providing technical input, mentoring and review to project teams
Keeping up to date with technical and legislative developments and seeking opportunities to develop a professional profile
Building effective and enduring relationships with other teams and technical disciplines and external organisations to foster cooperation and maximise cross-sell and trade-up opportunities
Providing technical expertise and overview to client and stakeholders and assisting clients through technical decision-making and provide alternatives options/solutions if there are changes to project parameters
Managing an ongoing relationship with the client and influencing decisions in both the client organisation and the industry
Candidate profile
Ideal Candidate:
15+ years' relevant NZ consulting experience on projects of significant scale and/or complexity
Relevant degree or equivalent professional accreditation
The ability to ensure that the quality of all projects of your team are of a consistently high standard
Service focused approach – we have a wealth of repeat clients – this comes down to our design ability and excellent service delivery
Recognised expertise in the delivery of structural projects
Demonstrated technical, commercial and delivery acumen
Recognised leader in the structural discipline
Proven ability to network and influence at peer levels and demonstrated ability to lead, with good influencing, motivating and delegation skills
Excellent communication and relationship building skills, both internally and external
