Fixed Term Orchard & Nursery Employment Available Option 1: 4 November 2024 to 8 May 2025 (This contract will include a non-paid break from 20 December 2024 to 26 January 2025 incl.)
Option 2: 27 January 2025 to 8 May 2025 We are looking for applicants for fixed term employment to assist the Kiwifruit Operations Team with a range of field, nursery and orchard tasks including, but not limited to: Monitoring physiological components on orchard such as timing of budbreak, flowering, and fruit set.
Flower and fruit thinning.
Undertaking field data collection including pollen extraction, bagging flowers, flower counts, fruit counts, shoot growth types, and fruit drop monitoring.
Putting up or taking down orchard plant labels, potting plants in the nursery, work in plastic houses, plant movement and planting.
Routine PSA monitoring in orchard.
Qualifications and Experience Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Ability to be flexible with the highs and lows of seasonal work which may involve working extended hours (including weekends) at times.
For orchard work: be physically fit and flexible - able to lift up to 20kg, bend, and spend periods outdoors.
