Your role: We currently have an opportunity to join our industry-leading Sales team as a Technical Account Manager, servicing our established portfolio of manufacturing customers within the Food & Beverage Processing industries. This is a fast-paced, dynamic role, where no two days are the same. Reporting to the Food and Beverage Market Manager, this technical sales role will allow you to nurture existing relationships and hunt out new business development opportunities, while consistently providing technical know-how to your customers. This is a home-office based regional role that will require travel across the lower South Island region to visit and attend customer sites. We are flexible with locations across Southland/Otago regions.
Your responsibilities:
Provide responsive account management and technical know-how along with outstanding customer intimacy.
Assist customers to ensure storage facilities comply with current legislation and IXOM standards.
Identify and lead new business growth opportunities to improve IXOM's presence and capability within your industry segment.
Work closely with Product Managers to assist you in identifying, contacting and developing new customers, selling new products and increasing market share.
Prepare and execute customer action plans to improve profitability and satisfaction.
Capture market intelligence and competitor information.
Prepare customer pricing letters and support the tender process.
Conduct professional presentations in support of these communications.
Deliver productivity improvements where appropriate and proactively seek continuous process improvements on customer sites.
Your skills & experience:
Tertiary qualification in a technical discipline such as Food, Engineering, Science, Microbiology, or Chemistry OR proven experience within the food processing/manufacturing space, or dairy industry AND knowledge of open plant cleaning and sanitation.
Experience in managing major accounts or developing new business is required.
Existing relationships with key industry personnel.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build longstanding relationships, negotiate, and influence.
Commercial acumen to truly understand the business development cycle, challenge current processes and offer insights to the product/technical management group.
Any experience in industrial water, Clean-in-place (CIP), or chemical sales or account management would be highly advantageous.
Problem-solving, curious mindset approach.
This role will better suit a self-motivating individual who is ready to drive their own success as it is a remote working position.
