Teamwear Designer (Full Time) – Paladin Sports NZ Office Based - Auckland, NZ Paladin Sports is a premium sportswear and apparel brand operating globally across New Zealand, Australia, the USA and the UK.
We cater for a wide range of sports from grassroots and schools through to professional organisations.
The role & responsibilities: We're currently looking for a Teamwear Designer to create and execute sports apparel products for the NZ market.
The Paladin Sports design function is broken down into three main areas of responsibility: 1.
Creation of graphic/apparel designs and corresponding artworks/technical information using 2D and 3D software.
2.
Using inhouse systems to create tech packs for garments to send into production.
3.
Communication with factories to check CADs and samples to align with desired outcomes.
You will report to the New Zealand Design Team Leader and work collaboratively with your design and sales colleagues to execute projects.
The requirements: * Bachelor's Degree in Graphic or Apparel Design, alongside 2 years or more of graphic design experience at an agency or in-house setting (equivalent combination of relevant education, experience and training considered).
* Proficient in Adobe CC (mainly illustrator and photoshop), with either previous experience or the view to learn Browzwear 3D programmes (Training will be provided with the role).
* Strong visual and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate design briefs into cohesive sportswear ranges and presentations for the client.
* Ability to collaborate, take feedback and juggle multiple projects at once to ensure deadlines are met.
* Ability to work independently but also as a team.
You need to be willing to learn new system processes and follow clear instructions from the Design Team Leader when required.
* Keen passion and interest in professional and grassroot sports.
* Knowledge in pattern making and garment design desirable but not required.
Previous sports/teamwear design experience is preferred, however candidates with a strong graphic design portfolio and keen interest in sports will be considered highly.
